A Bed and Breakfast Inn is definitely not the right description for High Hope Estate, close to Ocho Rios. The term bed and breakfast is totally misleading, although that is the way some reviewers describe High Hope Estate. It is really a small intimate romantic inn, which isn’t expensive, but offers incredibly good value for money. The words affordable hotel describe it well, and much better than a cheap Jamaica Hotel, because that infers things that this elegant Italian Villa style property definitely is not. Affordable very much so, cheap – no way.

High Hope Estate overlooks twenty miles of Caribbean coastline, 550 feet above sea level so it goes without saying that the views are spectacular. It sits within about 40 acres of botanical gardens, which makes it a special venue for large functions.

You may like to consider High Hope Estate as your perfect romantic wedding destination, because it can cater for up to 400 guests in the lovely Hibiscus garden. Your wedding would be very spectacular, with a number of different venues within the grounds according to the size of the wedding party.

As stated previously High Hope Estate is more than a bed and breakfast inn, but breakfast is possibly the most spectacular of all the meals served here. At breakfast you will be offered home baked bread, and fruit from the trees on the estate. You can eat lunch, which is quite casual, by the very nice pool, and the menu varies every day.  

Dinner is a candlelit affair, normally outside, and again the menu which will be slipped under your door changes daily. High Hope Estate prides itself with some justification on its culinary expertise, and all the ingredients are sourced locally and very fresh too!!

High Hope Estate is small intimate and definitely a romantic inn. There are only five rooms named Hibiscus, Pineapple, Royal Palm, Oleander, and Rasta, with each different from the other. They have quite superb views from their verandas, and each has towels for the beach or the pool, as  well as being very comfortable and furnished with English and Jamaican antiques. There are spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and this is one of the reasons that High Hope Estate would make a good choice for a cheap honeymoon vacation, because it is such a lovely place to stay at a cost of less than USD200 a night.

If you are an active couple then you don’t have to go far to find all the water sports you could want, white sand beaches to walk on, plus golf and tennis, and even shopping!!

If you are idle, then Spa treatments are available on your verandah, or in the small Meditation Hut

There is no doubt that the intelligent opinion is very much that High Hope Estate is a high class bed and breakfast inn offering what you would expect to find in high class hotel. It is intimate, romantic, and an affordable hotel/inn. It really is quite luxurious for this sort of property, and you would find it a great spot for a cheap honeymoon vacation in Jamaica, or even a romantic wedding destination. It bears further investigation
